The effectiveness of the officiating team depends on all members understanding their respective responsibilities, tasks, and duties. Each official must rely upon the other members of the team to perform their duties in a timely, accurate, and responsible manner. Reviewing these responsibilities and clarifying how they are to be performed is one of the central purposes of the pre-game conference (Guide to Procedures, "General Mechanics").

FYSA Player and Coach Pass Validity

Beginning this season 2006/2007, passes have been printed on the printers of the members of FYSA. No longer is one printer in the FYSA office printing all the passes with identical print quality. These variations of print quality in no way affect the validity of the passes. Some have been printed on paper, some on card stock, some in black and white and most in color. These variations are acceptable. No player or coach should be kept from participating based on the condition of the pass print quality. Should there be any question regarding the eligibility of a player or coach, it should be noted on the game report and the competition authority can determine if the player or coach was eligible to participate. As long as the pass is one that was pulled from the FYSA website, has a current picture attached, is signed by the member, and is laminated, it is acceptable.
