Yes, the rumors are true! As you may have heard, the East Orange Soccer Club and the Central Florida United Soccer Club are currently in discussions about a potential partnership between the two soccer dynamos.
Rest assured, East Orange is not “taking over” CFU – nor is CFU “taking over” East Orange. Rather, officers in both clubs share a similar set of fundamental goals. By combining our resources, we believe that we can better offer our young people enhanced training, improved growth opportunities, greater playing options for children of all ages and talent levels, and a more efficient way of administering all of the benefits that youth soccer provides.
So we’re talking about a better way to achieve those goals. We’re talking about budgets, potential new fee structures, professional training staff for all levels of play, additional play and practice fields – even potential names for a new club. But most importantly, we’re talking about the best possible approach to teach all of our players to love the game, enjoy the competition, and reap the rewards of success – in soccer, as well as in life!
Right now, we hope to conclude our talks by fall. We’d like to hear from you. What do you think the issues are? What should we be talking about? What are your concerns and expectations? This is your club, and these are your kids. Let us know what you think by contacting merger_committee@eastorangesoccer.com or merger_committee@cfusc.com. Look forward to hearing from you and answering any and all questions, comments and queries that you might have. We’ll keep you posted.
